2026 NEW YEAR PRESIDENTIAL ADDRESS

To My Dear Family and Members of the Ogberuru Development Association USA (ODA USA)

Date: January 1, 2026

Distinguished Elders, Chiefs, Ndi Nze na Ozo, Executive Members, and My Fellow Citizens of Ogberuru,

As we usher in the year 2026, on behalf of my husband and family, I extend our most sincere greetings and best wishes to you and your families.

It is both an honor and a profound responsibility to lead this noble association and I do not take it for granted. Today, we do not merely celebrate the turn of a calendar; we reaffirm our sacred commitment to the land of our birth and the future of our people.

Our association is founded on the principle of collective progress. Our Annual Conventions serve as more than social gatherings; they are the strategic forums where our unity is forged and our shared vision for Ogberuru is realized. In this new year, I urge every member to maintain this spirit of brotherhood, ensuring that we continue to meet in person. By the grace of God, this year, we will meet in Ohio. Please start making arrangement for the reunion.

Also, our impact is measured by the tangible improvements we bring to our home.

Ogberuru Secondary School: Our ongoing commitment to the rehabilitation and modernization of this institution is our greatest investment. By providing a quality environment for learning, we are securing the intellectual future of our town. This year, let us move that project forward and be prepared to support as much as we can to make it a reality.

Again, we remain dedicated to creating opportunities that equip our youths with the skills necessary to excel in a globalized world. Our mission is to transform their potential into sustainable success by financing six such youths.

ODA USA, we are called to Service and Responsibility this year 2026.

To sustain our momentum, I formally call upon all members to fulfill their civic duties to the association: I urge you to remain up to date with your annual dues. These contributions are the essential resources that fuel our projects. Your financial commitment is a direct investment in the prosperity of Ogberuru. And if there are any outstanding pledges, I pray that God will enable such to be fulfilled.

Finally, we have a duty to grow and preserve our heritage. I challenge each of us to empower our children by grounding them in our culture and language, ensuring that they carry the torch of Ogberuru identity with pride.

In conclusion, I urge us to approach 2026 with a renewed sense of purpose. Let our service be selfless, our unity be unbreakable, and our love for Ogberuru be our primary motivation. Together, we shall achieve milestones that will leave a legacy for generations to come.

May the Almighty God bless our efforts and grant us a year of peace and profound achievement.

Long live ODA USA.

Long live my Ogberuru community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Edith Chimezie Ibeneme-Mbagwu

President, Ogberuru Development Association USA (ODA USA)
